
DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 17 (MExN): The Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Dimapur, ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Nagaland Centre conducted a Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) meeting on February 14 at ICAR, Nagaland Centre at 10:00 am. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Abhijit Mitra, Director, ICAR-NRC on Mithun and co-chaired by Dr. B. K. Kandpal, Director, ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam, Meghalaya.
The programme started with release of three extension folders on “value addition in tapioca”, “Jackfruit chips” and “Neem: Uses in plant protection” by the dignitaries. The action taken report of last SAC recommendation and progress report for 2019-2020 was presented by Dr. Ebibeni Ngullie, I/c KVK Dimapur.
The action plan for 2020-2021 was presented by Ch. Roben Singh, ACTO (Agronomy). Dr BK Kandpal, in his closing remark urged the KVKs to identify the specific problems faced by the farmers before taking up any OFTs and FLDs. A total of 32 officials from district agriculture and allied departments like Agriculture, Veterinary, Land Resource, Fishery, Bio-Control Lab, SASRD, CIH, NABARD Dimapur, I/c of KVK Kiphire & Peren, Scientists of ICAR, Nagaland Centre, progressive farmers from Zuheshe, Zutoi, Maova and Kukidolong village attended the meeting and gave their suggestions.
