Late Khurshed Hussain Memorial U-18 tournament underway

Dimapur, March 14 (MExN): The Late Khurshed Hussain Memorial U-18 cricket tournament organised by Dimapur District Cricket Association (DDCA) under the aegis of Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA) began on March 14 at NCA Stadium, Sovima.

On day one of the tournament, the first match was played between Ram Janaki Higher Secondary School (RJHSS) and Vidhya Bhawan Higher Secondary School (VBHSS), in which RJHSS won by 8 wickets.

RJHSS won the toss and elected to field.  VBHSS were all out for 73 in 13 overs, with Uday and Vishal scoring 12 runs and 10 runs respectively.

Rohit’s 28 runs and another 26 runs from Monoj ensured a smooth win for RJHSS as they chased the target 10.2 overs with just two wickets down.

In the second match, Christian Higher Secondary School (CHSS) won against St.Mary Higher Secondary School (SMHSS) by 125 runs.

Winning the toss, CHSS elected to bat and amassed 218/7 in 25 overs. Vicky was the highest scorer for CHSS with 87 runs.

SMHSS were all out for 94 in 19.2 overs.

Sumit took 3 wickets for CHSS while Ankit and Ankesh took two wickets each, according to the DDCA report.
