SURUHUTO, FEBRUARY 2 (MExN): The 33 Suruhuto Area Sports Association Late Suhokhe Yeptho Memorial Football and Volleyball Tournament commenced on February 2 with a formal inaugural programme.
S Toiho Yeptho, Deputy Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, graced the occasion as the special guest, while Joseph Sumi, NPS Sports Officer, NAPTC, attended the programme as the guest speaker.
The tournament is being organised in memory of late Suhokhe Yeptho, father of S Toiho Yeptho.
Addressing the gathering, the guest speaker stressed the importance of discipline, dedication and sportsmanship among players. He encouraged sportspersons to remain focused, respect their coaches and teammates, and pursue excellence with sincerity and commitment. He also highlighted the role of sports in building character, leadership and unity among the youth, and stated that consistent effort and discipline are essential for achieving success both in sports and in life.
