Life Skill Education camp held in Tuensang

DIMAPUR, MARCH 15 (MExN): The youth department of the Tuensang Town Baptist Church held its 15th Life Skill Education (LSE) camp under the theme “Dexterity” at Longpang, Tuensang from March 11 to 13. 


Altogether 92 Class 10 appeared students attended the camp and they were sensitised on topics such as goal settings, career, communication, substance use, decision making, coping with emotion, relationship and loving self.
O. Akum, PGT; Anamong, Youth Secretary, CBLT; Rev H Sangkap, Pastor TTBL; and Lashem, Associate Pastor Youth, TTBL were the topic experts. 


There were eight sessions to tackle on different issues, experimental games, worship and song practices, reflections for the campers, Bible study and devotion etc.


Rev. Sangkap informed that the LSE was introduced by ECS and the church took the initiative and made some changes in the teaching module..  “Our present associate youth pastor was one of the campers in the LSE-III and our praise and worship leader was a part of the LSE-V. So, yes there’s so many success of the campers,” he added.
Anamong, Youth Secretary, CBLT said that the LSE camp is focused towards class 10 appeared students and every year the batch keeps changing. 


O. Akum, one of the resource person shared that LSE camps are activity oriented camps and hence more comprehensive. 


“Earlier, it was if you study hard you get a job. Today, you study hard but you don’t get a job, graduation is not enough. So, bedsides getting a job now, there are entrepreneurial skills and we try to impart that. Initially, it was about government jobs and we didn’t focused much towards the private sector but today, the things have changed,” he stressed.


The campers were divided into four groups and competed in various activities. On the last service of the camp, two campers from each group shared their camp experiences and each group participated in group presentation. 
Nyimang Naro, youth working committee was the camp director.
