Lifetime ban for trader’s murderers

Dimapur, May 20 (MExN): Five persons including NSCN/GPRN cadres accused of kidnapping and murdering Dimapur trader Md. Israr are banished for life from the area they committed the crime, Tenyiphe-I under Dimapur district. If these criminals are found inside the village’s jurisdiction ever again, the village’s community made it very clear today, reprisals would be swift, “any action can be taken against them on spot and there shall be no words for the actions taken.”   
Community leaders and citizens of Tenyiphe-I village met on May 15 to discuss issues related to the May 10 kidnapping and subsequent murder of the Dimapur trader. The community expressed deep outrage that the criminals used Tenyiphe-I village as the place to commit the crime; hiding the victim there and killing them on the soil of Tenyiphe, a statement declaring the decisions of Tenyiphe-I Village was received here from the village’s council.
The statement also named one Ganga Thapa and the Bihari NSCN/GPRN cadre murder-accused Umesh Bihari who the village made very clear that their being found in the area would be immediate “on spot” reprisals. The village noted one of the accused Kevingol Sophie of Jakhama village as having degraded the name of the village for personal gain, committed an unimaginable crime that has brought shame and sorrow on the village.
The village said he violated the rules and norms of the village council. For the crime, he is banished from the village for life and ‘forever.’ “The meeting resolved that the criminal Mr. Kevingol Sophie shall not enter into the Tenyiphe-I village jurisdiction during his lifetime,” the decision stated.
Likewise, the village said accused Ganga Thapa harbored criminals and the victim in his house. He is banished from the village for lifetime.   
So also, the village resolved that the accused Rhakho Rhi from Zhamai village, John Chakhesang from Khezhakeno village and Umesh Bihari committed the crime in the village, murdering an innocent person. They are all banished and barred from entering the village during their lifetime.
“If they are found inside the village jurisdiction again, any action can be taken against them on spot and there shall be no words for the actions taken,” the village stated in its decision.
