Kohima, April 7 (MExN): A pre-monsoon livestock health and disease prevention camp was conducted at Kezoma Village Council Hall under Khuzama-Jakhama block on April 6.
The programme was organised by the Rapid Response Team comprising 17 members to raise awareness among farmers ahead of the monsoon season.
Resource persons spoke on livestock diseases and preventive measures, including African Swine Fever and Classical Swine Fever, and highlighted the importance of vaccination and biosecurity.
Veterinary services including consultation, medicines, and vaccinations were provided. A total of 11 cattle, 51 pigs, 15 dogs, one cat, and 308 poultry were treated, while 59 pigs were vaccinated and 17 samples collected for testing.
