Longleng DPDB discusses plans for 2025 and departmental shifts

LONGLENG, FEBRUARY 14 (MExN): The Longleng District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held on February 13 at the DPDB hall in Longleng, chaired by Deputy Commissioner and Vice-Chairman of DPDB Longleng, W Manpai Phom.

The meeting began with a review of the minutes from the previous session. The board discussed several important issues, including the proposal for the change of the village name of Alayong to Alayung. The recommendation was approved and forwarded for government approval.

A major point of discussion was the shortage of teachers in Government Middle Schools and Government High Schools within the district. Senior SDEO Longleng presented a list outlining the subjects and streams affected by the shortage. The board agreed to forward the matter to higher authorities for further action.

The Deputy Commissioner also informed the board of the need to prepare a list of departments for a PowerPoint presentation during the upcoming DPDB meetings from March through November 2025. Additionally, the board formed a committee, headed by the SDO (c) as convener, to organize an Inter-Department Tournament. The committee will include the DSO (Sports), Additional SP, EE PWD (R&B), and DLRSO as members.

DC Phom urged departments that have not yet moved to their new office locations to do so immediately, following consultations with their higher-ups. The board decided to write to the concerned departments for necessary action.

In the meeting, the District Jail Longleng presented its departmental activities via PowerPoint, while the chairman assigned the Department of Food and Civil Supply to present its activities in the next meeting. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by the Deputy Commissioner.
