Losami Driver Union undertakes road restoration on October 10.
Kohima, October 12 (MExN): The Losami Drivers’ Union (LDU) in Phek district undertook road restoration work along the Losami–Losatephe road on October 10 with financial contributions from vehicle owners.
The road restoration work was carried out in a wake of the deteriorated condition of the road, which has caused considerable hardship to commuters and vehicle owners.
The restoration work was carried out with the support of JCB owners and volunteers as a collective effort to make the road accessible and ease the difficulties faced by the public.
The initiative reflects the growing concern of local road users over the condition of this important road, which serves as a vital link for transportation and connectivity.
It may be recalled that the road connecting Losami and Losatephe has continued to face maintenance challenges.
Meanwhile, the Losami Village Council urged the concerned authorities and agency to give due attention to the condition of the road and take necessary measures for its proper repair and maintenance.
While the community has made efforts to address the immediate difficulties through voluntary contributions, a lasting solution requires appropriate intervention and regular maintenance by the concerned parties, the Council stated.
The Council also called for timely action to ensure safer and more convenient travel for commuters.
