Manipur Assembly budget session to commence from February 14

The budget session of Manipur Legislative Assembly due to commence from February 14 will last till February 28.
A meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) of the state Assembly convened by Speaker Yumnam Khemchand resolved on Wednesday to continue the sitting till February 28. 


The meeting was attended by chief minister N Biren Singh who is the leader of the house of state Assembly and other members.


As per a provisional calendar issued by the secretary of the state Assembly after the BAC meeting, state Governor will address the house on the first day of the session which will have 11 sittings.


During the session, budget estimates 2020-21 will be tabled in the house by the state chief minister and supplementary demands for grants 2019-20.


Presentation of BAC report 2020, discussion on Governor’s address and general discussion on supplementary demands for grants and general discussion on budget estimates are the some of the business to be transacted during the 11 sittings.


The budget estimates 2020-2021 to be tabled in the house of the state Assembly will be the first for the chief minister even though it would be the fourth budget estimates of the BJP-led coalition government.


The last three budget estimates were presented in the house by state deputy chief minister, Y Joykumar Singh.
