Meet held over completion of road under NLCPR

Dimapur, November 16 (MExN): A co-ordination meeting of the council members and ‘Gaonburas’ of the 10 villages of Potinakup range was convened by Deputy Speaker, NLA, Ralanthung Yanthan on November 15 at Lotsu EAC Headquarters to facilitate the “smooth and speedy construction” of the road from ‘0’ point Sanis to Worokuv (27 kms) under NLCPR.
A press note issued by press secretary to Deputy Speaker, NLA Nzanbemo Lotha stated that lauding the generosity of the Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and minister for Roads & Bridges G. Kaito for their unwavering support in getting through the long awaited road project, the deputy speaker said that ever since the first cutting done in the 1960s this stretch of road had never seen any black topping until now.
He expressed happiness that on completion of the road the economic life of the people of this range will greatly improve. The deputy speaker impressed upon the area public to continue their fullest support to the visionary leadership of Neiphiu Rio in order to bring about bigger and better projects in the constituency in particular and Wokha District in general. He assured the area people that he would personally inspect the construction of the road once the work commences.
The area council members, Gaunburas and the public expressed their deepest joy and pledged to give their whole hearted support and co-operation to the contractor concern for speedy implementation with quality. The District Administration, Police and concern department also assured their fullest co-operation, it stated.
The note also mentioned that the Nagaland Contractors & Suppliers Union, president Pele Khezhie speaking on the occasion described the meeting as first ever and unique saying that in his twenty years as a contractor he had never come across a grand and meaningful meeting such as this just before commencing of a work of such public importance. He said that this practice is very essential especially in Nagaland in order to minimize undue hindrances to contractors and to achieve quality works, timely completion, fixing of responsibility and in creation of public awareness. He profusely praised the wisdom of the Deputy Speaker and called upon the area public to continue to support his leadership to bring about more such needed speedy development of the constituency.
The well attended meeting resolved among other things, use of quality stone chips and boulders, regular inspections by Engineers and local MLA and stringent action against anyone who disrupts the progress of the project.
