PIPHEMA, NOVEMBER 24 (MExN): Modern Higher Secondary School (MHSS) successfully concluded its 3rd Annual Sports Meet from November 21 to 23, under the theme “Higher, Faster, Stronger,” emphasizing physical well-being and holistic learning for students.
The event was inaugurated on November 21 at Modern College, Piphema, with Pelee Hekha, Managing Director, as the special guest. In his inaugural address, Hekha highlighted the importance of sports as one of the healthiest forms of competition, encouraging students to embrace the event as a memorable and enriching experience.
“The spirit of sportsmanship and physical activity is integral to your overall development,” Hekha remarked as he declared the sports meet officially open. The welcome address was delivered by A. Nenia Theresa, Principal of MHSS, who expressed her excitement for the event and its role in promoting student engagement and well-being.
The three-day meet featured a range of indoor and outdoor activities, including Carrom, Chess, Badminton, Table Tennis (TT), Volleyball, Basketball, Football, as well as track events like the 100m, 200m, Rally Race, and team competitions such as Tug-of-War and Arm Wrestling.
The event came to a close on November 23 with an awards ceremony where medals and certificates were presented to the outstanding participants. Yellow House emerged as the overall champion of the sports meet, while Red House and Green House claimed the first and second runner-up positions, respectively.
