Minister Paiwang bereaved; CM Rio, Deputy CM lead tributes to Among Konyak

Dimapur, November 6 (MExN): Among Konyak, mother of Minister for Health & Family Welfare, P Paiwang Konyak, passed away today at her native village, Shangsa, Tizit.

Meanwhile, Nagaland Chief Minister Dr Neiphiu Rio and Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton led others in paying tributes to the deceased and offering condolences to the Minister and his family.

In his condolence message, CM Rio said he was saddened to learn of her passing and paid tribute to the late Among as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who embodied kindness as well as compassion and touched many lives.

He acknowledged that losing both parents in a short span is a sorrow beyond words and commended the strength shown by the Paiwang family during this difficult phase. 

Rio extended condolences on behalf of his family and prayed that God grant strength and solace to the bereaved, and for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.

Deputy CM Y Patton also expressed grief, stating that the loss of a mother is among the greatest sorrows in life, as her love and guidance shape the foundation of a family.

He said he stands in solidarity with Paiwang and the family, adding that her memory will live on through the legacy of love and kindness she leaves behind. 

Patton prayed for strength, peace and comfort for the bereaved family. 

The Naga People’s Front (NPF) further stated that the death of a mother, a pillar of strength, love and guidance, leaves a void that cannot be filled. 

The party said the rank and file of the NPF stands in solidarity with the Minister and his family during this period of mourning, and prayed for strength and courage.

In a separate message, Advisor H Tovihoto Ayemi nate late Among will be remembered for the values she imparted and the love she shared.

Her passing, he said, is a loss not only to the family but also to the community.

Ayemi prayed for eternal rest of the departed soul and for strength to the family to bear the loss.
