Mokokchung Jyoti Mahila Sangathan attains 25 years

Mokokchung, August 2 (MExN): The Jyoti Mahila Sangathan, Mokokchung a woman’s organization of the Sarvajanik Gorkha Mandir Mokokchung celebrated its 25 years jubilee at Ongpangkong Salang, Arkong ward, Mokokchung on August 2. 

The silver jubilee celebration was graced by Amardeep Gurung, Assistant Supervisor, Office of the Principal Account, General (Audit) Kohima: Nagaland. The guest of honour, in his speech, stated that the service of the Sanghathan is commendable and said that this is not a one-time celebration but a reason that will promote oneness amongst the Gorkha community. He opined that celebrations like this preserve and promote culture and tradition.

He reminded people that respect is shown to one another, and only then can people live peacefully.co-exist and encouraged everyone to live in society and to contribute to it with their service and talents.  He said that to exist in a society, one should embrace Dharma. Following Dharma, order, and custom that sustain life, and following moral duties, is essential, and it should be in congruence with discipline, added the guest of honour.

The 25th anniversary witnessed two sessions, a formal and an entertainment session. The formal one was followed by an entertainment session, where the audience was treated to dance performances in rich and traditional attires and song performances.
