Mon, September 15 (MExN): The Mon District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) reviewed proposals concerning school upgradation, nomenclature changes and registration of community organisations during its monthly meeting held at the DC’s Conference Hall, Mon, on September 15.
Following a review of the minutes of the previous meeting, the board deliberated on and recommended for consideration and final approval by the concerned departments the upgradation of GPS Papong to a Middle School, change of nomenclature of Wangka School to Cornerstone High School, Aboi, and registration of the Chingtan Community Enterprise & Livelihood Society and Goodwill Angjong Welfare Society.
The board also discussed the Reform Utsav, with Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman, DPDB, Wennyei Konyak highlighting its objective of institutionalising citizen participation in governance.
He informed the members about the Nodal Officer and members of the Mon District-level Committee for Reform Utsav and urged the District Nodal Officer to prepare a plan for district-level activities.
Konyak also called upon all members to extend cooperation towards the activities under the Reform Utsav.
The upcoming Platinum Jubilee of Mon Town was another key issue discussed during the meeting. The Deputy Commissioner apprised the house of the various committees constituted for the celebration and urged them to participate sincerely to ensure the successful conduct of the jubilee.
The meeting also included a briefing on the PM RAHAT Scheme, with the DC Konyak Commissioner the scheme to the members, the State DIPR reported.
