
Kohima, September 18 (MExN): In view to promote and motivate towards research in academic pursues the Kohima College, Research Cell organized a one day motivational talk on the topic the need and advantage of research for college teacher or scholar on Saturday at the college auditorium.
The eminent educationalist Fr A.J Sebastian Sab, HoD English Deptt Nagaland University), urged the teachers and students to write and publish articles through the local newspaper which serves us the best platform. He also encouraged the gathering to go back to their roots and to write particular about Naga folklore, stories and poem, which will further motivate and eye opener to many hidden treasure.
Dr Tiatoshi Longkumer, Deptt of History and Archaeology, Nagaland University said in a modern education system not only confine to teaching and learning but for reach in different fields. Citing with archaeological exploration in Nagaland said community research basing on oral tradition excavate Naga ancestral sites. He also highlighted archeological finding dated back to 50 BC- 90 AD at Phor Village undere Meluri sub-division, Laluri dated at 670-1000 AD, Khezhakeno dated 1320-1500 A.D, Jotsma at 1650.
When asked he said archaeological research is done at the best interest of the villagers and always feel that maximin benefit should go to the village.
Earlier, keynote address delivered by principal of Kohima College C.Khalong and sessions were chaired by Dr Koni (political science) and Dr Kevileno (HoD English deptt). All the teaching faculty and students of BA III Year attended the talk.
