MSME-DFO Dimapur organises branding and marketing workshop in Peren

Peren, September 5 (MExN): A one-day awareness workshop on branding and marketing under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme was conducted at the Women Welfare Organisation Conference Hall in Jalukie, Peren, on September 4 to strengthen the entrepreneurial capabilities of local artisans.

The workshop was organised by the Union Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) through the MSME Development and Facilitation Office (MSME-DFO), Dimapur, in collaboration with the Department of Industries and Commerce and the District Industries Centre (DIC), Peren. The initiative focused on equipping artisans with technical insights into product packaging, labelling and design, export development, artificial intelligence, e-commerce, and financial literacy.

Delivering the first technical session on product packaging, labelling, and design, Kimthailiu Panmei, Founder of Crave Inn and Pink Blossoms Society, underscored the critical role of packaging in augmenting product value, brand recall, and marketability. Functional Manager at DIC Peren, Namziulung Pamai, followed with a session on export development, briefing participants on export readiness and pathways to tap into international markets.

Addressing financial assistance, Lead District Manager (LDM), SBI Dimapur, Talinaro Longchar, clarified loan application procedures, institutional credit facilities, and central social security schemes, including the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJBY) and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY). 

A dedicated business development session by Kezhono Kennao, Financial Analyst under the RAMP Scheme at DIC Peren, outlined integrated business growth strategies, financial management, and stakeholder networking for sustainable enterprise expansion.

The State Programme Management Unit (SPMU) of PM Vishwakarma conducted an interactive module on artificial intelligence (AI) and e-commerce onboarding. The session trained artisans on basic AI prompt generation, digital marketing ideation, and listing products on major e-commerce platforms. Vivek Kumar from the India Post Office, Dimapur, also demonstrated QR code generation to enhance digital product visibility and streamline market linkages.

The programme concluded with remarks from Nikhilendra Y, Assistant Director, IEDS, MSME-DFO Dimapur, who urged artisans to leverage government-led capacity-building platforms to expand their market reach and business prospects.
