Multiple infrastructure development projects in Mengujuma inaugurated

Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio inaugurated multiple infrastructure development projects at Mengujuma village under Kohima district on February 15.

The project includes; Mengujuma village gate, Mengujuma Phepfhünie Tsiese, Mengujuma village Agri Link Road (Under MGNREGA) Bypass Road via Tsiesema and new council hall of Menguzuma Village.

Addressing the gathering, Rio lauded Mengujuma villagers for its strong bond of unity, which led to fruition of the developmental activities in the village.

Stating that unity is prerequisite for all round development, the Chief Minister said “everything is possible where there is unity.”
In this, he called upon the villagers to continue to maintain unity and collectively work towards a progressive society. Rio assured the villagers of continued government’s support for developmental packages.

Further, he also assured to address the various requirement of the village in consultation with the elected representative of 8th Western Angami A/C, Salhoutuonuo Kruse, minister for women resource development & horticulture.

MVC treasurer Neisakholie Sechü informed that the new village council hall was constructed at the cost of around Rs 80 lakh. Mengujuma Village Council (MVC) chairman Vitsalhou Kesiezie made a plea to the Chief Minister to take up the opening of Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) at Mengujuma and also adopt Mengujjuma as eco-smart village.

Kesiezie also pleaded Rio on the requirement of medical centre in the village and also to improve village road and water supply.

Earlier, the main function was chaired by Keviu Seyie, Secretary, MVC and compered by Dr Thekru Mor and Mhasino Metha. Rev Dr Kecha Seyie invoked God’s blessings. Mengujuma youth organization and Mengujuma Cultural Troupe performed special number. Vote of thanks was proposed by Er Sivi Mor, District Project Officer, FOCUS-IFAD, Phek and benediction by Rev Keneingulie Sechü, Pastor, Mengujuma Baptist Church.

Earlier, Rajulhoutuo Sechii, VDB secretary chaired the inaugural programme of the village gate with a prayer by Kekuose Seyie, pastor AG Church. The inaugural programme for Mengujuma Phepfhünie Tsiese was led by Kelhouletuo Sechii.

Nagaland Women Resource Development & Horticulture Minister Salhoutuonuo Kruse, Urban Development And Municipal Affairs Advisor Zhaleo Rio and School Education & SCERT Advisor Dr Kekhrielhoulie Yhome were also present at the programme.
