Dimapur, September 15 (MExN): Naga lawyer Aphune Küvephulü Kezo has been named “Emerging In-House Counsel of the Year 2026” at the LexTalk World Conference & Exhibition held in Dubai on September 9-10.
The Legal Honor Middle East recognition acknowledged Kezo’s work across dispute resolution, corporate and commercial law, and media and entertainment.
Kezo is currently Consultant–Legal Manager at JSW GMR Cricket Private Limited, associated with the Delhi Capitals IPL franchise in New Delhi.
Her work includes commercial contracts, corporate and regulatory matters, dispute resolution, intellectual property, sponsorships and partnerships, informed a press release received here.
Kezo completed her higher secondary education at Pine Mount School, Shillong, before joining National Law University, Jodhpur, after appearing for India’s first CLAT.
During law school, she reached the quarter-finals of the ICC International Commercial Mediation Competition in Paris in 2013 and won the Best Model Essay at the Jean-Pictet Competition on International Humanitarian Law in Portugal in 2014.
She gained early professional experience with law chambers and leading firms in Delhi and Mumbai while still a student.
After graduation, she joined the Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative as a Project Officer, working on human rights, constitutional and criminal law, prison oversight and public policy, before completing an LLM in Corporate and Financial Laws from Jindal Global Law School.
Over the course of her career, Kezo has advised businesses in sectors including technology, healthcare, construction, financial services and consumer industries. Her current role at Delhi Capitals places her at the intersection of corporate law, professional sport, media, entertainment and commerce, the release said.
The Dubai recognition marks another milestone in Kezo’s career, which has taken her from Shillong and Jodhpur to international legal competitions and professional engagements across multiple areas of law, it added.
