Civil Societies of Satoi Range with Advisor Dr Yhome, Minister G Kaito Aye at Cultural Hall Satoi Town Satoi HQ in Satakha subdivision, Zunheboto district, on April 7.
Zunheboto, April 8 (MExN): Advisor for School Education and SCERT, Government of Nagaland, Dr Kekhrielhoulie Yhome visited Satoi HQ in Satakha subdivision, Zunheboto district on April 7.
Media Cell of Satoi Rage GBS Association in a press release stated that during his visit, an interaction programme was held at Cultural Hall Satoi Town with civil societies and stakeholders from eleven villages under Satoi Range, including government teachers, village Councils, Satoi Range GBs Association, Satoi Range Students Union (SRSU) and Satoi Town Elders Forum to discuss educational reforms and improvements.
In his address, Advisor Dr Kekhrielhoulie Yhome informed that there are 38 schools under Satakha constituency with nine schools in Satoi range.
The Advisor emphasised that government schools have well-qualified teachers capable of delivering quality education. Dr Yhome addressed concerns about teacher’s shortages and students enrollment in the government schools. He acknowledged a long-standing issue where civil societies and the government have blamed each other for the lack of teachers and students enrollment.
“If villages and areas enroll more students in the government schools, the teacher’s shortage issue would be resolved, and teachers could be deployed,” he opined. He also said that government schools can also receive relaxation in student’s enrollment if communities assure to enhancement of students enrollment.
In regard to teacher’s transfer, he said that there is no such thing as transfer with post. “The teachers are transferred according to the requirements of government schools.”
Regarding the downgrading and closure of government school, Dr Yhome explained that schools are closed or downgrade due to nil enrolment. However, he assured that if there is an improvement of student enrollment, the State Government can upgrade the schools. He urged stakeholders not to pressure the government and have confidence in the state government abilities.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Road and Bridges, G Kaito Aye mentioned that Satoi range faced numerous challenges due to insurgency problems in the early stages of education reforms, which has significantly impacted education in the region. However, under Chief Minister Rio’s leadership, significant changes and reforms are currently underway.
Aye assured support for the education department initiative to rationalize teachers in Nagaland for educational reforms. He urged the students’ community and stakeholders to take responsibility for improving student’s enrollment and assured his full support for the students’ welfare.
During the interaction hour, Satoi Range GBs association (SRGBA) requested Dr Yhome to replace the Graduate Teacher at GMS Satoi who is retiring on April and provide an adequate number of teachers in the school. The association also requested construction of staff quarter and other necessary infrastructure in Satoi headquarter.
Later, Advisor Dr Yhome along with Minister G Kaito Aye visited GMS Satoi and interacted with the teaching faculties.
During the visit to Satoi HQ, the Advisor was accompanied by his wife and department officials including Vikhweno Chale, Joint Secretary School Education, R Daniel Angami, under Secretary School Education, Khriesano Nagi, Joint Director School Education, Khriekuonuo Pienyu, Planning OFFICER, School Education, Dr Atshu Ps to Advisor School Education and other officials.
