Nagaland defeats Sikkim in Ranji Trophy
Dimapur, DECEMBER 28 (MExN): Nagaland registered another win against Sikkim, this time in the Ranji Trophy. The 4-day game, which started on December 25 at the KIIT Cricket Stadium in Bhubaneshwar, lasted the entire 4 days.
Sikkim’s 1st innings score read 269 (all-out) in 74.4 overs. Iqbal Abdulla top scored with 94. Nagaland responded with 296 (All Out) in 61.4 overs riding on a 108-ball 135 from Stuart Binny.
Sikkim, however consolidate, managing only 133 (all-out) in its 2nd outing at the crease. Nagaland made easy chase of the required win target in 12.2 overs with 9 wickets to spare.
Stuart Binny, who also claimed one wicket, was declared the Man of the Match. Nagaho and Imliwati were the top wicket takers for Nagaland claiming 6 wickets each. Tahmeed finished with a match haul of 4.
“It was a calculated effort by Nagaland in the last hour of match which resulted in this great victory,” stated Nagaland Cricket Association in a press release.
