Nagaland engineering firm adopts AI to enhance customer services

Dimapur, August 2 (MExN): Nagaland-based engineering firm ELS International has introduced an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered engineering assistant as part of its digital transformation initiative aimed at improving customer engagement and engineering services.

The Dimapur-headquartered company, which specialises in swimming pool engineering, water features, water treatment systems, automation and turnkey aquatic infrastructure, said the AI Engineering Assistant has been developed to provide customers with instant technical guidance while supporting engineers throughout project execution.

Founder and Managing Director Achen Imchen said the initiative is part of the company's broader effort to integrate artificial intelligence, knowledge management and engineering best practices into its operations.

"Engineering is built on knowledge and precision. Artificial intelligence allows us to make engineering knowledge more accessible to customers while enabling our engineers to focus on design, innovation, quality and project execution," Imchen said.

According to the company, the AI Engineering Assistant has been trained using its internal engineering knowledge base, operating procedures and technical standards.

It enables customers to obtain preliminary guidance on swimming pool planning, construction, renovation, maintenance, filtration systems, automation technologies and project requirements before consulting engineering professionals.

The company also announced the implementation of an Enterprise Management System (EMS) and an AI Governance Framework to standardise engineering operations, document management, quality assurance and digital decision-making across the organisation.

It said these measures are intended to improve operational efficiency while ensuring the responsible use of artificial intelligence in engineering workflows.

The firm emphasised that AI is intended to complement, rather than replace, qualified engineers by supporting technical consultation, improving communication with clients and facilitating quicker access to engineering knowledge.

ELS International said the digital transformation programme also supports sustainability by improving project planning, optimising resource utilisation and reducing material waste through informed decision-making during the design stage.

Founded in Dimapur, the company provides engineering services for residential, commercial, hospitality and institutional clients, covering project design, construction, automation and long-term maintenance.

The company said the initiative reflects the growing adoption of artificial intelligence by engineering businesses in Nagaland to improve competitiveness and service delivery, adding that it is among the early examples of an engineering firm in the state integrating AI into customer engagement and engineering operations.
