Dimapur, August 30 (MExN): The Department of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Nagaland, organised a one-day training programme on “Etiquette & Duties of Drivers” at the State Environment and Forestry Training Institute (SEFTI), Dimapur, on August 29.
The inaugural programme was attended by Hukato Chishi, IFS, Member Secretary, Nagaland Pollution Control Board (NPCB) and Chief Conservator of Forests (STC), while Lhinghoikim Touthang, IFS, Conservator of Forests (RPU), attended the valedictory programme.
The resource persons were Peter Shuya, NPS, ACP (T), Dimapur, and William Kath, NPS, MTO, Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, from the office of the Commissioner of Police, Dimapur.
The technical sessions covered traffic rules and regulations, etiquette and duties of drivers, and hands-on training in emergency mechanical defect management.
The training aimed to sensitise departmental drivers on the importance of etiquette, discipline and professional duties and motivate them to inculcate work ethics and a sense of responsibility as government servants.
According to the department, the programme was among the forestry-related educational training programmes conducted by SEFTI, Dimapur. It was also the first refresher course of its kind organised specifically for departmental drivers.
The Director, SEFTI, expressed gratitude to the department authorities for their support and vision towards improving the department and its personnel, which enabled the successful conduct of the training programme.
