Nagaland Govt release post-matric scholarship for ST students

Kohima, November 11 (MExN): The Directorate of Higher Education (DHE), Nagaland, has announced the release of the second phase and final (one-time full) payment of the Post-Matric Scholarship for ST students for the Academic Year 2024-25. 

The payment was processed on November 11 covering 19,381 beneficiaries whose applications were verified at the State level, informed a press release from the department. 

Meanwhile, the DHE informed that students on the 2nd phase beneficiary list who have not yet received their scholarship should ensure their Aadhaar is linked to their bank accounts and activated for Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) payments.

The list of beneficiaries whose accounts are not DBT-enabled is available on the Directorate’s official website: https://highereducation.nagaland.gov.in, it added.

As per the department, so far a total of Rs 56.38 crore (Rs 5638.06 lakh) has been released as scholarship with 41793 beneficiaries for academic year 2024-25.

The Post-Matric Scholarship is a centrally sponsored scheme (90:10), jointly funded by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, and the State Government.

The State Government releases its share promptly upon receipt of funds from the Centre, and the Department initiates payments only after the requisite funds are received from the designated funding agencies, the DHE held.
