10th General Conference of Pochury Gazetted Officers Forum held

Parliamentary secretary for Tourism, Law & Justice, Yitachu today said that Nagaland is a land of opportunity having the potential of creating industrialization, taking the advantage of having mineral deposit in the state. He also said that the beauty of the place can help in promoting tourism opening Border trades, linking South East Asia. Addressing the 10th General Conference of Pochury Gazetted Officers Forum (PGOF) as the chief guest, held at Hotel Japfu, under the theme “Social Emancipation”, Yitachu said human management is the most difficult setback yet economic development can be initiated as Naga has a manageable society, to have a progressive life.
He asserted that changes are taking place hastily and urged to act along with the changes to transform the society and to make a better place to live in. Yitachu maintained that manpower to construct road has been overruled by sophisticated machines and therefore he said “we need to be well equipped with whatever project or work we are implementing”. “When you respect and honor others, people respect and honor you”, he said and appealed PGOF to take up responsibility to bring society in a respective manner. Yitachu also urged the officers to have trust and extend help to one another, without antagonizing others.
Khuosatho, former Member of Legislative Assembly in his brief address said Pochury can do away all the sufferings where minority tribes suffer in many aspects in every civilization while also with the growth of Pochury population, he said people from the Pochury tribe can move out of the artificial bondage facing the hurdles to maintain a happy and prosperous society. Also, Neihu C. Thur IAS, sharing a senior officer’s advice, said to live a contented life one has to start with a well defined vision and should have the willingness to work in any places as government servants are the servants of the public.
Maintaining that education is the light of the society, people and the progress of human wellbeing, Thur said the government servants are the most fortunate people as 70 % of the government resources are spent of the government employees, and said “You should have a missionary commitment, having sense of adventure to work anywhere you are posted as you are suppose to work and not pick and choose”, Thur said and appealed to serve happily setting good examples to other people. Earlier, the programme was chaired by S. Akho Leyri, president PGOF while Pr. Samson Thur pronounced invocation. Dahil Fithu, Meluri Gazetted Officers and SEND choir lightened the occasion with a special number. Rosiepa Nyuthe, finance secretary PGOF and Rev. Zhiwhuotho Katiry proposed vote of thanks and benediction respectively. The general conference was followed by business hour and election of new officer bearers.
