Mon DC cautions against illegal sale of badges, lotteries, calendars

Mon, November 12 (MExN): The Mon district administration has cautioned organisations and individuals against the sale of badges, coupons, calendars, and the conduct of lotteries, stating such activities are in violation of a standing government ban order. Deputy Commissioner Wennyei Konyak said it has come to the notice of his office that such illegal practices are causing inconvenience to the general public within the district. The official cited the State government’s ban on these activities, which was imposed vide the Home Department (General Administration Branch-II) Order No. GAB/GEN/7/26/97 dated September 25, 2000. The administration warned that stern action will be initiated against any person found indulging in such illegal activities.

New Ministers Hill Panchayat issues warning against public disturbances

Kohima, November 12 (MExN): The New Ministers Hill Panchayat, Kohima issued a notice warning citizens to abstain from creating any “public disturbances” within the colony. In a press release issued here, it stated that defaulters will be met with the full extent of the applicable laws if the individual is found promoting such activities. It informed that the Panchayat will be rallying together to launch several proactive programs including 24x7 roaster duty in the colony especially at view point area for regular checking of alcohol use in the colony. Keeping in mind of the upcoming final examination of the students, the Panchayat appealed to every citizen to abstain from creating any public disturbances within the colony, while stating that ‘failure to comply to the notice shall invite consequences.’

Phek district to host unity march

Phek, November 12 (MExN): The District Core Committee in Phek has finalised a series of events to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, in line with a directive from the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. A meeting was held on November 6 under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner to plan the commemorative programs aimed at fostering national pride and strengthening the spirit of unity among the youth. As part of the celebrations, an essay writing competition will be held on November 14, followed by a cleanliness drive on November 15. The first ‘Sardar @ 150 Unity March’ (Padyatra) is scheduled for November 15 from 8:00 AM, starting from the Clock Tower to the Town Hall in Phek, with participation from students and youths. A second unity march will be held on November 19 from the DC Office Phek to the Public Ground, Phek Town, involving government employees, colony and ward leaders, and the general public.

TSUD silver jubilee on Nov 15

Dimapur, November 12 (MExN): The Tenyimi Students’ Union Dimapur (TSUD) is set to commemorate its 25th anniversary with a silver jubilee celebration on November 15. The event will be held at the Jotsoma Community Hall, Kuda Village (A Khel), in Dimapur. The occasion, held under the theme “Nurturing Brotherhood,” will reflect on 25 years of togetherness and prosperity for the union. MLA Kuzholuzo (Azo) Neinu will grace the event as the special guest. All former leaders, pioneers, and well-wishers of TSUD are warmly invited to attend the celebration. The formal programme will feature special musical presentations by the Jubilee Choir from Discipleship Bible College, Dimapur, and the PM Shri GHSS Chumoukedima School Choir. The second session, a cultural extravaganza, will have GK Rengma, President of the Naga Council Dimapur, as its Guest of Honour. The session will showcase performances by talented artists, including Keneisenuo Sorhie, Dzupani, Isile Zeliang, Haya Semy, and Yoto Khusoh.
