Nagaland Police amends recruitment notification

Kohima, November 7 (MExN): The office of the Director General of Police (DGP), Nagaland has issued an addendum to the earlier advertisement for recruitment to the post of constable (GD) under Nagaland Police.

In a notification, the DGP’s office stated that in continuation of the advertisement issued vide No. PHQ(B-1)1/Recruitment/constable/2023/Dated 30/09/2025, wherein Dimapur, Chumoukedima, and Niuland districts together were allotted 144 posts under the “open competition category” for all indigenous tribes of Nagaland, the matter has now been re-considered by the government.

It informed that as conveyed through the Home Department letter No. POL/ESTT/RECRUITMENT/1/202 (PT-VII) dated Kohima, November 3, 2025, the 144 posts for Dimapur, Chumoukedima, and Niuland will now be allocated among the indigenous Naga tribes of Nagaland as per the tribal ratio based on the 2011 census data for the indigenous Naga tribes of the erstwhile Dimapur district.

The notification added that the allocation of posts for each of the indigenous Naga tribes of Nagaland for the three districts combined, along with the allocation for the remaining districts, will be uploaded for public information on the Nagaland Police Recruitment Portal and the department’s website https://police.nagaland.gov.in

Further, it stated that in continuation of paragraph at Serial No. 6 (G) (ii) of the advertisement dated September 30, 2025, the break-up of total posts for male and female candidates will also be indicated in the same table or chart.

According to the addendum, applicants applying for the posts under Dimapur, Chumoukedima, and Niuland districts must be residents of these districts and should possess supporting documents such as Indigenous Inhabitant Certificate and Scheduled Tribe Certificate issued by the concerned district authorities, not below the rank of Additional Deputy Commissioner.

In light of the modifications, the DGP’s office informed that an option to change the applied district in the Nagaland Police Recruitment Portal is being incorporated for candidates who had earlier applied under Dimapur, Chumoukedima, or Niuland. Candidates may now re-apply in case they wish to apply in other districts or their respective native districts starting from November 8, 2025.

It added that candidates can log in during the allotted period using their registered mobile numbers to make the required changes, following which a revised admit card will be generated.

The closing date for submission of online application forms has also been extended by 15 days—from November 8 to November 22, 2025.

The notification clarified that apart from the above modifications, all other contents and guidelines issued earlier in the advertisement dated September 30, 2025, will remain unchanged.
