DIMAPUR, JANUARY 3 (MExN): The Taekwon-Do Association of Nagaland (TAN) has made a significant mark at the 39th National ITF Taekwon-Do Championship, held from December 27-29, 2024, in Goa. The six-member team from Nagaland returned with a Gold and a Bronze medal.
Michael Kevichüsa claimed the Gold Medal, while Kagunchungliu Kamei earned a Bronze Medal, marking their impressive achievements in the competition.

The Nagaland team included Atunato Victor Kinny, Imna Toshi Longchar, Kagunchungliu Kamei, Paugayibe Disuang, Mereh Doulo, and Michael Kevichüsa.
Speaking about the performance, Michael Kevichüsa, State Head of TAN, expressed pride in his team’s efforts, noting, “The students performed exceptionally well, especially considering it was their first time competing at the national level.”
Master Narender Singh Rawat, Technical Advisor of the Taekwon-Do Association of India and recipient of the International Outstanding Instructor Award, also praised Nagaland’s potential, stating, “Nagaland has the potential to even win at the World Championships.”
Michael Kevichüsa will represent India at the 23rd ITF Taekwon-Do World Championships, scheduled for October 2025 in Italy. A seasoned martial artist, Michael has been competing and winning medals at the state, national, and international levels since the age of 13. He also represented India at the 10th Asian ITF Taekwon-Do Championships in August 2024.
