Imphal | December 4 : It has been almost 15 years down the line nurturing and caring the children of less fortunate children, the missionary zeal of Noah's Ark Ministries Societies (NAMS) located at Ghaspani, off Dimapur has been the "smouldering fire on the cold wintry night for the unclad."
Children with varied background and condition found themselves not to be called less unfortunate anymore at NAMS. The cozy and homely atmosphere in this 'home' is gradually becoming the 'longing-for-destination' for the children who had stayed at NAMS as there world views have been shaped here.
The NAMS was established in the year 1997 at Sixth Mile in Dimapur but now it has been shifted to Ghaspani.
Asenliu Murry, the lady behind this humanist mission says, "Noah's Ark Ministries Societies (NAMS) is a self funded venture with a vision to help the society." According to her, there has been hardship in running such an institution but by the grace of God its daily needs have been provided on time. Asenliu who is a devote Christian has this to say, "The home (NAMS) has been built to Noah's Ark Ministries Societies."
Adina Murry, daughter of Asenliu who has just come back from New Delhi to assist her mother said that NAMS has not approached the government for funds. Adina said though funds can be an impediment it is God that has been behind the survival of this society for the last 15 years.
Talking about NAMS, Adina Murry said though financially the NGO is not sound NAMS will try its best to impart the best education to the children. "Our society is filled with corrupt practices and anti-social activities. We are here choking out strategies to inculcate the right stuff in the tender mind of these children," says determined young Adina Murry. Adina believes that right patterns of education are the surest tools to thwart the ailments of the society.
There is a sizable number of children at NAMS currently. Children of broken families and orphans find their home here at NAMS.
