Phek, August 30 (MExN): The NSS Unit of Phek Government College, in coordination with the My Bharat Office, Phek, observed National Sports Day 2026 through a Yuva Connect programme at the college on August 27.
The programme was part of the nationwide observance and included a virtual address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the youth of the country.
Local sports icon Theputso Kezo, Assistant Coach, Thenyizu Wrestling Institute, attended the programme and highlighted the importance of sports and sportsmanship. This was followed by an interactive session with students and youth.
Officials from My Bharat also addressed the gathering. Huve-o Churah, a BA third-semester student, presented a special song.
The programme was compered by Humichilu Venuh of BA fifth semester and Adosa Nuwiry of My Bharat. The concluding remarks were delivered by Dr Zhokusheyi Rhakho, Programme Officer, NSS Unit, Phek Government College.
The event also included the Nasha Mukt Yuva pledge, submission of suggestions for Khelo India Yuva Samvaad and a My Bharat registration drive for the participating youth.
