KOHIMA, JANUARY 10 (MExN): The North East Dr. T. Ao Trophy 2020 will be held in Kohima, IGS from January 18 to 28.
All the North Eastern States of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Tripura, Sikkim and Nagaland have confirmed their participation.
Teams will arrive on January 18 and the game will be played on a league cum knockout basis and the final will be held on the January 28, the birth anniversary of Dr. T. Ao.
The inaugural programme will be graced by the Governor of Nagaland, RN Ravi on January 20 at 9:00 a.m. in the Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.
The winning team will walk away with prize money of Rs. 10,00,000, Trophy and Certificate. Other prizes include runner-up - Rs. 6,00,000, 3rd place - Rs. 2,00,000, 4th place - Rs. 1,00,000, fair play winner - Rs. 50,000, player of the tournament - Rs. 25,000, and Rs 10,000 each for the best goalkeeper, best defender, best midfielder, best forward, and the man of the final.
Meanwhile, the champion team coach and manager will receive Rs 15,000 each, while the runner up team manager and coach will get Rs 10,000 each.
All four losing teams in the league stages will also be awarded Rs 50,000.
