NE Dr T Ao Trophy: Mizoram to meet Arunachal in final

KOHIMA, JANUARY 27 (MExN): Nagaland’s campaign to lift the North-East Dr T Ao Trophy came to an end today as they lost to Mizoram 2-1.
Mizoram booked their place in the final and is set to face Sikkim for the trophy on February 28.
In the first semi final match, Nagaland made a bright start as they took the lead courtesy Rhitsho Mero who scored in the 18th minute.
Mizoram however managed to draw level just two minutes after the break with a goal from Lalchungnunga Chhangte. Soon after, in the 49th minute they took the lead as Malsawmfela scored in the 49th minute.
Mizoram managed to hold the scoreline at 2-1 till the end of the game, booking their place in the final.
Meanwhile, in the second semi final, Sikkim beat Arunachal Pradesh 3-1. Kintup Ongpo of Sikkim opened the scoring in the 59th minute. Arunachal Pradesh however drew level through Tapi Hakhe in the 78th minute, forcing the match into extra time.
A quick flurry of two goals from Milan Chettri in the 100th and 112th minute ensured the win for Sikkim and their place in the final.
