Ukhrul district has altogether 27,860 job seekers officially registered in Ukhrul’s Employment Exchange as on September 30, 2011. Out of the total sum-up figure status, males registered in the registry are about 19,281 numbers and that of female shows 8,579. The total number of jobs applicants beginning from standard-VIII to higher degrees or professionals is officially recorded at 27,249 in previous year (as on 31-12-2010). This indicates a difference of only 611 applicants added more comparing to the previous year's entry record till up to September 30 according to the official data. The details in varying the qualifications, professionals and sex categories status up to December 2010 are: Class X passed (male applicants) at 5463 and females at 3278; Higher Secondary level i.e. Class X11 passed (male) at 2637 with that of 1900 females. Graduates in all disciplines was at 1597 (males) and 895 (females) while post-graduates in all disciplines (streams) had a total record of 224 (males) with that of 161 (females). According to official sources, in the professionals’ category, there were only 224 and 161, males and females respectively, registered.
First minority peoples’ convention held
Dimapur, December 15 (MExN): The first minority peoples’ convention was held at Lirungtabi village under the Minorities Political Forum (MPF) in Chandel, Manipur. A press note from the MPF General Secretary, K George stated the convention has declared the following goals and visions: the peoples’ convention shall uphold the manifesto and views of the MPF; shall be united and fight for rights; shall be united to any government decision in building Chandel district; approves the MPF to tie with Naga Peoples’ Front in any decision; and the inhabitant tribes of Chandel are all minorities and henceforth will understand one another and shall be concerted into Chandel Political Forum as a common platform.
Unidentified corpse found
DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 15 (MExN): One unidentified dead body of a man was recovered by police on Thursday, December 15. The deceased is believed to be a non-Naga and was found at 2 ½ Mile (opposite Tata Motors) in the morning after police were informed of an unidentified man lying in an unconscious state. Fair in complexion and around 35 years of age, the corpse is now being kept at the district hospital morgue for identification. Preliminary post mortem report stated that the man was declared brought dead, police said. The body bore no evidence of external body injury that may have caused death while the cause could not be ascertained.
