Maligaon, January 29 (MExN): A table top discussion on disaster management training was held at the (ZRTI) Zonal Railway Training Institute at Alipurduar Junction on January 29.
The disaster management plan of the division was discussed in presence of all stakeholders. Chief Safety Officer of NF Railway, MK Agarwal along with other senior officials were present during the discussion. An interactive session was also held on the occasion.
The role of the instant action team was discussed. The role and duties of front line railway staff like, Loco Pilot, Asst. Loco Pilot, Guard, Train Conductor, Train Suptd, Coach attendant, AC mechanic, RPF, Station Master, Traffic Inspector, Welfare Inspector etc were deliberated upon during the interactive session. Role of different departments like, civil, mechanical, electrical, signal & telecom etc during any disaster were also discussed upon during the interactive session.
A digital presentation was held for initiatives to be taken to tackle any major incidents like earthquake, landslide, flood, cyclone, fire etc. Role of NDRF, Civil defence, Scouts & Guides were also discussed upon for search and rescue of victim.
