Maligaon, January 5 (MExN): In view of the strike of commercial vehicles in Assam and subsequent problems being faced by travellers, NF Railway has decided to attach additional train coaches to facilitate the passengers travelling by trains.
“This initiative is expected to lessen the problem being faced,” Sabyasachi De, Chief Public Relations Officer NFR stated.
The details of the augmented trains with added coaches are as follows:
• Train no. 15613(Guwahati- Murkongselek) Lachit Express and train no. 15603 (Guwahati- Ledo) Intercity Express are attached with one extra sleeper class coach each on January 5 and 6.
• Train no. 15614 (Murkongselek- Guwahati) Lachit Express and 15604 (Ledo-Guwahati) Intercity Express are attached with one extra sleeper class coach each on January 6 and 7.
• Train no. 15665/15666 (Guwahati- Mariani- Guwahati)Express are attached with one extra general class coach each on January 5 and 6; and January 6 and 7 respectively.
• Train no. 15615/15616 (Guwahati- Silchar- Guwahati) Express are attached with one extra sleeper class coach each on January 6 and 7.
Augmentation of train coaches were adopted by railways to facilitate wait listed passengers that in- turn helps to clear the extra rush of train passengers.
