NFR undertakes track renewal works

Maligaon, May 27 (MExN): In a bid to maintain railway tracks in proper condition and provide a safe and comfortable journey to rail passengers, NF Railway has undertaken several track renewal works during the month of April, 2023. 

During April 2023, 15.25 Km of plain tracks have been deep screened by cleaning impervious layer of dust, sand ashes etc from ballast. Through Sleeper Renewal of 06.93 Track km have been done; Through Turnout Renewals of 4.5 equivalent sets have been done during the month. Apart from that, six numbers of bridges have been rehabilitated and 393 signaling batteries of various capacities have been replaced over NFR during the month. 

Maintenance of tracks at regular intervals have resulted in smooth operations of trains and providing better riding experience for passengers, a press release stated here. 

Moreover, 1665.75 kilometres of track have been tested by USFD (Ultra Sonic Flaw Detection) machine during the month of April, 2023. USFD technique is carried out to detect flaws like cracks and timely removal of defective rails for safety.
