NIAPA bi-annual TT league concludes in Chümoukedima

Chümoukedima, April 1 (MExN): The Northeast India Academy of Performing Arts (NIAPA) on April 1 concluded its first bi-annual friendly league between Club NIAPA and Mizoram under the theme “Beyond Borders, Within the Game” at the NIAPA mini stadium in Chümoukedima.

According to an official update, the tournament aimed to provide players with greater exposure and competitive experience, while offering a broader platform to showcase talent and strengthen ties between the two states through sporting exchange.

The event, held at the mini Table Tennis (TT) stadium located at the Agri Expo premises, featured competitions for club members in a professionally hosted setting.

In the singles final, Fela defeated Sanga to emerge champion of the bi-annual league. Zuia secured third place, while Bena finished fourth.

In the open doubles event, the pair of Fela and Shepika defeated Jenny and Khama 3–1 in the final to clinch the title. Bena and Kethovi finished third, while Nana and Vicky secured fourth position.

On the opening day, Team Double R won the team event title, excelling in league matches across a format comprising two singles and one doubles fixture to secure 14 points. Team Z finished as runners-up with 12 points, while Team Zoga and Team Topspin claimed third and fourth places respectively.

The singles and doubles champions received a cash prize of Rs 12,000, while the runners-up were awarded Rs 8,000. In the team championship, the winning side received Rs 20,000, while the second-placed team was awarded Rs 15,000.
