Night curfew reinforced in Assam-Nagaland border

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 22 (MExN): Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Sivasagar, Assam has reinforced night curfew from 6 pm to 6 am in the 5 km belt in Assam side of Sivasagar district bordering Nagaland state with effect from October 24, 2018 for a period of 60 days.  

In an order, the ADM, Sivasagar said night curfew has been imposed as a precautionary measure to prevent occurrence of anti-social elements/extremist/unlawful activities coming across the Assam /Nagaland border in the belt of Sivasagar district. It therefore prohibited movement of any person/ group of persons/any vehicular traffics during the period of night curfew.  

However, security personnel of army/CRPF/Police and civil officials deployed on duty have been exempted from the purview of the prohibitory order.
