CHÜMOUKEDIMA, NOVEMBER 24 (MExN): The ATL Season 8 came to a dramatic conclusion at the DGP Ground in Chümoukedima on Saturday, with Nizams FC clinching their maiden league title after a stellar season.
Going into the final matchday with 18 points, Nizams FC needed just a draw to confirm their top spot. In a tense opener against Trinity Sporting, the Nizams held their nerve to secure a crucial draw, enough to crown them champions.
The second and final match of the day saw Natak deliver a scintillating performance, overpowering Superstrikers with an emphatic 4-1 victory, showcasing the league’s depth of talent.
Individual honors went to Angam, who was named Player of the Season for his exceptional contribution of 11 goals and 8 assists, underscoring his vital role in the league. And in a special moment, the league honored its oldest player, 68-year-old Sanjit Defoe from Natak FC, acknowledging his dedication and remarkable presence on the field.
