Winners to represent district at State level

District level youth festival, 2026 was held under the theme ‘Youth, Skill and a Self-Reliant Nagaland’ at White Hall, Noklak village on September 14. The event was organised by District Youth Resources & Sports Office Tuensang.

Folk song, folk dance and declamation were the categories competed during the festival. Altogether, participants from Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Noklak; Government Higher School (GHS) Noklak village; St Paul School, Noklak; and Thang Students' Union (TSU) took part in the competition.

District Sports Officer, Tuensang, Athrong Yimchunger, in his address encouraged the students to showcase their talent, creativity, confidence by embracing heritage through folk dance and songs. He also emphasised on participating rather than winning and to learn from one's mistake. “The spirit of the competition is in the ability to come forward, and express and to enjoy the spirit of healthy competition,” he stated.

The DSO also informed about the platform ahead after the district level competition, adding that the videos of the performance of selected team or individual will be forwarded to the directorate of Youth Resources & Sports, Kohima.

GHSS, Noklak begged the winner of Folk song, GHS Noklak village managed the second prize. In the folk dance, GHSS Noklak won the first position and TSU in the second position. St Paul School, Noklak begged the winner in the declamation, while GHSS Noklak and TSU won the second position.
The winners of the competition will represent the district in the state level competition.
