Dimapur, May 20 (MExN): The president and general secretary of NPF Alongtaki A/C; Imlitemsu Longkumer and Supongmeren have clarified that the meeting scheduled on May 17 was postponed as they were instructed by the NPF Secretary General KG Kenye not to hold any meeting until further notice.
Responding to the news items published in local dailies on May 19 and 20, the two office bearers in a rejoinder stated: “…we received an “Office Order” on 16th May signed by the Secretary General of NPF Mr K.G.Kenye which read as- “In view of the serious turn of events in 30-Alongdaki A/C involving the sitting Member Er.Saku, Parliamentary Secretary and the Area unit on the other hand, since the matter has been taken over by the Central Office, the President has directed all confronting parties to henceforth refrain from issuing any press statements or summon any meetings at any level indefinitely until such time the Central Office deems it necessary under its order and supervision. Therefore all concern individuals and groups are hereby directed to strictly comply by this order and postpone the 17th May meeting at Longchem indefinitely which otherwise will attract Party Disciplinary Action as a violation and breach of the Party
Constitution”.”
The duo in the note stated that having no option other than to comply with the order from the NPF highest decision making body, the undersigned were constrained to postpone the proposed meeting which was conveyed to all party functionaries including the village units and further published in local dailies on May 17. Unfortunately, Er.Saku started calling people to attend the meeting “or else, the meeting was convened without him since we had to deliberate over the non-performance of Er.Saku”.
Therefore, the decision which was made during the "so-called NPF meeting" on May 17 is "null and void" and invites disciplinary actions from the party leadership. At the same time, we request “Er.Saku’s followers” not to create confusion in the minds of Naga people, basing on the fact that “NPF has been marching and shall march forward with or without Er.Saku”.
