The NPL management today disclosed that the registration for clubs to participate in the auction has closed. The last date as mentioned in earlier reports was the 9th of November. The auction for the all clubs barring the two Dimapur slots will be held on the 16th of November. In a joint decision taken by Joseph Sumi, Dimapur District Football Association President and Asalie Peseyie, CEO of NPL, the two Dimapur slots will be decided only around the second week of December after the DDFA league concludes. Also after confirmations from Neibu Sekhose, President, Kohima District Football Association and Moasangba Jamir, President, Mokokchung District Football Association, the management announced that the two teams selected on the merit basis are Life Sports FC representing Kohima and Zonipang FC from Mokochung. Zonipang FC was selected considering they were the champions of the recently concluded MDFA Tournament and Life Sports FC based on their recent performances and the properly structured system they have in place.
