According to the NSDMA, Meluri district is likely to experience moderate rainfall with thunderstorms from October 31 to November 2, while Chümoukedima, Dimapur, Kohima, Longleng, Mokokchung, Mon, and Niuland may witness heavy rain with thunderstorms on October 31 and November 1.

Meanwhile, Peren, Phek, Shamator, Tuensang, Tseminyu, Wokha, and Zunheboto districts are expected to receive light to moderate rain at isolated places on November 2, the release stated.

The Home Department has further directed all District Disaster Management Authorities (DDMAs) and concerned line departments to remain on high alert to safeguard lives and property during this period.

For any emergency, the public has been advised to contact the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC) through the toll-free number 1070.

The NSDMA warned that heavy precipitation could lead to waterlogging and flash floods, particularly in the lowland and foothill areas such as Dimapur, Niuland, Chümoukedima, Bhandari, Baghty, Tizit, and Tuli. The authority cautioned that strong winds and lightning may also disrupt communication and connectivity during this period.
