Dimapur, July 19 (MExN): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has written to the Chief Secretary, Government of Nagaland expressing resentment as well as total objection over the illegal or backdoor appointments of Sub Division Officers (SDOs) and Junior Engineers (JEs) in all the government departments of engineering establishments.
NSF in the ‘Representation’ appended by president Kelhouneizo Yhome and general secretary N. Ejanthung Ngullie demands strict adherence to 60% vacancies to be appointed through NPSC and immediate cancellation of those unlawful appointees. Further, the Federation demands that no extension be given to the already employed contract personnel, in order that requisition can be sent to Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) for open recruitment and for the matter, any direct recruitments or departmental promotion be exercised as per the prescribed norms.
Therefore, the Federation while upholding its principle stands to fight against any backdoor appointments and political interference in the recruitment of such employees, request the Chief Secretary to promptly act upon the demand within sixty (60) days with immediate effect from the submission of this ‘Representation.’ Failing to comply with this demand, the NSF shall initiate its own course of action against the Government, the Federation further stated.
