Zunheboto, January 29 (MExN): Nagaland University Football Team will participate in the All India Inter-University Football (Men) AIU Tournament 2025-26, which will be hosted by the University of Calcutta in Kolkata from January 30 to February 9.
The team qualified for the national tournament after competing in the AIU North East Zone University Championship held from January 5 to 11, 2026, at Royal Global University in Guwahati, Assam. It was noted that the top four teams from each zone qualify for the All India Inter-University Football Tournament, and Nagaland University secured fourth position in the zonal championship.
According to the information provided, top performers from the All India Inter-University Football Tournament may advance to represent at the Asian University Games and the World University Games.
The Nagaland University Football Team is led by Coach Watimenba Longchar, with Mesanguto Meru, Assistant Director of Sports, serving as manager, along with Dr Harish Kumar Tiwari, Deputy Director of Sports, Nagaland University.
