NWA holds emergency meeting, inducts two new district units

Kohima, March 18 (MExN): Nagaland Wushu Association (NWA) has stepped up preparations for the Nagaland Olympic & Paralympic Games 2026, holding an emergency general body meeting on March 17 at Talimeren Hall, Nagaland Olympic Association office complex in Kohima.

The meeting deliberated on matters related to the conduct of Wushu events during the upcoming Games, with officials from nine district Wushu associations in attendance.

During the meeting, the association resolved to urge all affiliated units to actively participate in the Games and to select the best athletes for representing the state at the Northeast Games 2026.

It was also decided to organise a technical session aimed at equipping technical personnel to ensure the smooth conduct of the Wushu competition.

In a significant development, the NWA inducted two new district units, Tseminyu District Wushu Association and Niuland District Wushu Association, taking the total number of affiliated district associations to 14.

The association further urged district officials to identify talented athletes at a young age and groom them towards professionalism in the sport.

Members present at the meeting expressed gratitude to Kudecho Khamo, President of the Nagaland Wushu Association and Advisor for CAWD & Taxes, for his continued support and guidance to the association.
