Rejoinder to PRO, Ministry of Defence, Kohima and BRO, Rangapahar on corruption in Army Recruitment
The Army Policy conducting recruitment affairs which was published in the esteemed newspaper, the Nagaland Post on October 18 and 25 under the caption “Army recruitment free from corruption” and “No money required for recruitment in the Army” by PRO, Ministry of Defense and BRO, Rangapahar respectively attracted our attention. So, the victims of misconduct recruitment would like to clarify the truth that our system of recruitment is theoretically very impressive but it never happens that way in practical. The Army authority must realize the involvement of the recruiting officers because without their involvement ‘Why’ and ‘How’ the question of middleman in every recruitment rallies comes.
We also would like to bring to your attention by pointing out some fact-finding of actual events which was happened during the recruitment rally which was conducted on July 26 – 28 at Dimapur. After the final process selection we were instructed to submit necessary documents and to fill up the forms to undergo training. To our surprise, we never receive our call letters for training, whereas some candidates who are not qualified for selection are found enrolled in the list for training. We felt very badly humiliated when some failed or rejected candidates went for training leaving behind the genuinely selected candidate and the concerned authority not been able to do the justice after receiving our complaint. It is learned from a reliable source that after filing up the forms we are supposed to go for training which is never happened to us. So, who is the mysterious Ghost who is hunting and wants us dead?
We, request BRO, Rangapahar to help us to fight for our rights on this matter but the officer concerned of BRO officially avoided this matter by the reason best known to them.
We also appealed Home Department (Government of Nagaland) through our representation to the Principal Secretary clearly mentioning what we are facing now. But till now, we don’t see any action taken by the concerned authority, all we got is a requesting letter from Secretary RSB Nagaland to Commanding Officer (CO) 164 TA (H&H) NAGA, Ranikhet (please ref. Letter No.RSB/TA/28/92, Dated Kohima, the 3rd October 2006)
From the above mentioned points we don’t see “the Recruiting System of most clean and corruption free”, as declared by the Army authority in the local newspaper. Now, the main question is why the army and concerned authority hesitating to take appropriate action against those responsible persons addicted to malpractices and what is the reason of their hesitation to take up this matter?
