Dimapur, December 7 (MExN): The Department of Agriculture under the New Extension Reforms Scheme, ATMA organized an orientation course for the newly recruited manpower viz: 4 Deputy Project Director (DPD), 19 Block Technology Manager (BTM), 60 Subject Matter Specialist (SMS) and 1 Computer programmer/Operator.
Welcome & Keynote address was delivered by A.Y. Ovung, Director of Agriculture & State Nodal Officer, ATMA. The new recruits were exhorted to work sincerely and tirelessly in order to deliver extension services to the farmer’s right at their doorstep and not take the job as a means to get employed just for monetary benefit.
The preference of local posting places with due consideration on availability of vacancies were announced by the. Ikuto Zhimomi, Deputy Director ATMA.
T.V. Holo, Addll. Director Agriculture & Director, SAMETI power presented on the new revised guideline policies and organizational set up of the Scheme with bottom up approaches. He also impressed the ATMA functionaries to give their best and perform their specific functions diligently. Dr. I. Amenla appraised on role of DPD, BTM and SMS besides discussing on the Reporting systems, Success Stories of Small and marginal farmers, and Innovative programmes. Altogether 115 officials and functionaries attended the training.
