Kohima, January 16 (MExN): The Pesocha Baptist Church Council Khriesaüü Krotho (Youth Fellowship) 45th General Convention cum Music Fest is underway at Botsa Baptist Church in Kohima district.

The programme will culminate on January 18.

The convention began with a dedicatory service led by Neitsolie Mezhier. A male voice presentation was given by BKK Meriema, and the dedicatory act was ministered by Hetuo Khrodi, Travelling Pastor, Pesocha Baptist Church Council (PBCC). Over 900 delegates from across 30 churches under PBCCKK are attending the programme.

Later, during the gospel service, Rev Dr Kevichalie Metha, Pastor, Peraciezie Baptist Church, shared the message with the delegates. He stated that Naga society is in turmoil due to immoralities, dishonouring the marital institution, homosexuality, greed leading to corruption, addictions, and other confronting issues.

He maintained that the NBCC is actively coming against social evils through the Clean Election Movement, the NLTP Act, and other initiatives that matter to faith.

Highlighting that during the time of Paul, the Ephesians also lived in a generation marked by intense spiritual warfare and a backslidden nature, he recalled Paul’s call to the people “to redeem the time because the days are evil.”

Dr Metha called upon all youngsters to wake up from slumber, stand firm in faith, and remain strong in the truth. Calling on them to be the light and salt of the earth, he said, “This is our time.”

Quoting Esther 4:14, “for such a time as this,” he said that we are called to serve God where we are. He cited Esther’s response, “If I perish, I perish,” and urged the youth to stand in the same faith and move forward for the people.

Furthermore, he called for a generation rooted in faith to bring about transformation.

During the programme, Ruokuobeilie Zumu, Pastor, Botsa Baptist Church, delivered the welcome address and offered prayers. Greetings were delivered by Krutsolie Zumu, President, PBCC. Scripture was read by Keduolhoutuo Yano, Chairman, Dihoma BKK, while the programme was led by Neikielie Rüpreo.
