A weeklong 19th edition of Phek Town Inter-Ward Tournament 2026 concluded on January 22 at Phek Town local ground.
The tournament, which commenced on January 15, was organised by Phek Town Youth Society (PTYS) under the theme “Promoting peaceful & inclusive societies through sports.” In Football, Jericho-II Ward emerged the champion title while New Ward stood Runner- up.
Chekhro Letro of Jericho-II bagged Golden Glove award. Golden Ball- Mucheto Lenu (Mission Compound), Most promising player- Ozo Vero (Zion ward) and Player of the Tournament- Kuhushezo Vese (New ward).
In Volleyball (Men), Zion Ward emerged the champion title while Hebron -1 stood runner-up.
Thujoku Rhakho of Hebron- I and Mhasheyi Lohe of Zion Ward bagged the best setter and best spiker award respectively.
Jericho- II bagged the champion title of Volleyball (Women) while Bethany-II stood runner-up.
Tsutolu Chizo of Jericho- II and Mululu Venuh of Bethany- II were declared as best setter and best Spiker respectively.
Shooting (Men): 1st -Vevoto Swuro (Jericho-II), 2nd- Seso Venuh (Hebron- II), 3rd- Kevizatuo Wetsa (New Ward)
Shooting (Women): 1st- Satolu Lohe (Jericho-II), 2nd- Besuvolu Puro (Bethany-II), 3rd- Ratsulu Vero (Bethel)
During the tournament, Jericho- II emerged as the Group champion as well as the best cheer Team. Best discipline team was bagged by Zion Ward.
Phek Deputy Commissioner Rhosietho Nguori graced the closing ceremony as the valedictory guest.
The closing ceremony was chaired by PTYS vice president Vekhruvo Khusoh while PTYS vice president Vezovo Rhakho led prize distribution.
