Kohima, August 31 (MExN): The Department of Printing and Stationery, Nagaland, organised a farewell programme for its outgoing Director, I Moatemjen Jamir, who retired from government service on attaining the age of superannuation on Monday.
The programme was held at the Conference Hall of the Directorate of Printing and Stationery here.
According to a press statement issued by the department's Media Cell, Jamir joined the department in 1996 as a Foreman and served in various capacities for 30 years before retiring as Director and Head of Department (HoD).
In his farewell speech, Jamir thanked departmental officers and staff for their constant support and cooperation throughout his three decades of service.
Attending the programme with his family members, he shared his emotional feelings and attachment to the department and expressed satisfaction with its work environment, which he described as friendly.
Additional Director Jongpongtoshi, on behalf of the department, congratulated Jamir on his retirement after 30 years of service and wished him and his family a successful retirement life.
He said retirement from service was not an end but a new beginning after a well-earned career. The department also handed over Jamir's complete pension papers to him on the occasion.
Joint Director Vilekho Kichu chaired the programme, while UDA S Chilliam invoked God's blessings and Registrar L Ongpa Phom delivered a short speech.
A large number of departmental officers and staff attended the farewell programme. A farewell luncheon was also organised for the well-wishers, officers and staff of the department.
